Meet the BB&P team – today we say hello to Babbity Barwick
Every so often we sit down with a different BB&P team member to find out more about them. This time, it’s Babbity Barwick, Head of Client Services + Principal.
Who are you and what do you do at BB&P?
I’m Babbity. Once upon a time I was a designer, then I became an account director and occasional designer, then I became a strategist, planner and manager. These days I’m just the one who swears the most and distracts everyone – I guess that means I have successfully managed to climb the corporate ladder?
How did you end up in Cayman?
I got here on a plane via Miami but avoiding Cuban airspace. It was all a bit of a blur.
What’s your favourite thing about living in Cayman?
What’s the best advice anyone ever gave you?
‘No cow no care’ – my Great Grandfather – pity I didn’t listen.
What are the three tools you use in your job you couldn’t live without?
Besides various swear words I suppose those little red ink pens and reading glasses.
What’s your favourite band at the moment?
I enjoy most music as long as it’s doesn’t involve scat, dreary or folksy stuff, anything that whines or has too much piano, strings or brass.
Bob and Black Keys are still firm favourites.
What’s the best book you read recently?
The best book I’ve ever read is The Siege of Krishnapur by J G Farrell. It was so good I haven’t found another one to compare so it’s just Atlantic Monthly until I recover.
What TV show are you hooked on at the moment?
Anything Si’s hooked on – he owns the remote.
What 3 sites do you check regularly to keep up to date with the industry?
Sorry to admit that I don’t work at this with conviction but I do seem to spend an absurd amount of time of the internet looking at arty, designery stuff and looking around a lot.
What’s your go-to order at the bar at Friday happy hour?
Tanqeuray and Tonic with a slice of lemon.
